RESCUE HOUSE 2023
I trust this letter finds you well and enjoying 2023,
Here is an update on the project AgendaJesus has started and will have running this year.
Last year on a trip to Kenya we met a girl by the name of Mary (pictured to the right). Mary is 10 years old and was not at her home or in school when we met her. She began to share her story with me and it was heartbreaking to say the least. She had been raped by multiple family members and other men in the village we were at.
We immediately stopped everything we had planned for our week there and decided to make sure Mary was taken care of and out of this nightmare before we left. Right after she shared her story we took her to the hospital to make sure everything was ok with her health. At the hospital the doctor confirmed to me that her story was accurate and she had been violated. Thankfully she did not have any STD’s from the encounters and her physical body would recover from the abuse.
We involved the police in the matter and were able to arrest two of the men(pictured to the left) while the others have fled the area and are no longer in the state, but are being looked for actively.
The state was now involved and said that Mary would need to go to a government run foster home until we could provide a safe living space for her. After this encounter I became close friends with the police chief in the village outside of the main area of Murang’a Town. He began to share with me multiple cases of underage girls in the area suffering from similar situations. This was heartbreaking to hear and I knew it was our responsibility to do everything in our power to rescue as many girls as possible from this evil right in front of us.
Shortly after this we were able to acquire a plot of land in the area where we are starting to build a rescue home to house twenty girls who are victims of sexual abuse. We have a wonderful house mom named Miriam (pictured below) who has just graduated and is currently working at a rescue home north of Nirobi. The house will also have another helper and a cook.
The home will support the 20 girls through high school while taking care of their at home needs as well helping them heal from the abuse they have experienced. We cannot thank everyone enough for the support that has come in to care for these beautiful young girls. We consider it an honor to be able to drastically alter these girl’s life for the better who so far have gone through unimaginable horrors.
Until this project is up and running all gifts will be going directly into finishing the building, and the monthly cost to operate and care for all the girls involved. We are trying to raise at least 75,000$ to complete the building and first years operating cost.
